We just finished our second night of 3 nights staying in RioMaggiore. As beautiful as the towns are here, I'm looking at a last minute change in itinerary to escape the crowds before we head to our next busy destination of Siena for the Palio. We will take the train or rent a car. Small towns preferred. Thanks in advance if you have recommendations.

As mentioned above Pietrasanta is very nice, many Italians even haven't heard of it. This is the big ferragosto holiday week in Italy so anywhere on the sea will be packed with tourists
