It seems that the Pope schedule hasn't been updated in a while. Does anyone know when they release the schedule for the year? Should I assume that in July there will only be the Sunday Pope blessings and no Papal Audiences?
Also for either of these events, do people usually visit the rest of the Vatican that day? Does that mean those days are any worse crowd-wise?

This Pope hasn't been releasing his calendar very far in advance. You'll just need to keep checking to see what he has planned.
Yes, most people will visit the museums and basilica after a wednesday audience. The museums are not open on Sundays. If you have enough time to do the audience and come back on another day you might want to do that to avoid these larger crowd days.
