Seeing the Pope

Arriving in Rome at 1000 am on September 22. Wondering if we could make it to St Peter's square by noon to see the Pope?
Thanks Steve

As travel time between the airport and central Rome is usually anywhere from 50-60 minutes, it seems doubtful that you would make it by 12. Add to that time to get luggage and clear immigration I don’t see how you would be able to get to Vatican City in 2 hours.

Voting with mlbruels5: very doubtful you could get off the plane, through immigration, into Rome (add more time if collecting checked luggage), store bags at hotel, Termini or elsewhere (you're probably too early for check-in) and get to St Pete's in two hours.

If arriving at the Roma Termini station,, yes if the train is on time. If you have luggage, you could grab a taxi, drop your bags at your hotel, and then go on to the Vatican. But you will need to hurry.

If you are in town on Sept 25, there is a Papal Audience in St Peters Square at 9:30 am, as an alternative. You could try to book tickets on the Vatican website, but if none are available, you’re still welcome to come in the square.
