Secret Itinerary at Doge's Palace for pregnant woman

Our daughter will be 4 months pregnant when we are in Italy in mid-June. We want to take the Secret Itineraries tour at the Doge's Palace, but it cautions it is not appropriate for pregnant women. Our daughter is in excellent condition and has continued to be extremely active. Do you think the precautions are for women who are closer to term, or should we not chance it?

It would depend on how she is feeling at that time and how warm it is in Venice. You will do a lot of steep stair climbing and there is no air conditioning (and little ventilation) in the areas you are going to in the Doge's Palace. Personally, I'd recommend she skip it and save it for a future visit.

I would also suggest paying attention to the precautions. I did that tour in late October during very cool weather. However it was uncomfortably hot and stuffy in the secret itineraries portion of the tour. You are directly under an uninsulated roof with a low ceiling. The guide mentioned that they often have to stop doing that tour during parts of the summer because that area becomes intolerable.

Makes sense - I think we will have more fun if we do other things. Thanks so much for your advice.
