Second guess on the Dolomites ?

We will spend 5nights in Verona as we may drive to Padua and Parma and then off to Dolomites- We are not on a fixed schedule but will have about 7 days. I am now second guessing myself as have 3 nights in Belluno and 3 or 4 nights in San Candido, I am thinking they are too close together and may change to Castlerotto and I’m not sure??. We are moderate hikers.

After that we will go to Lake Garda, Turin and Alba.
Thanks for any guidance.

Castelrotto is a more "popular" choice, but I don't think that Belluno and S Candido are that close together. From Belluno you will be able to hike the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, to which I have never been but it looks stunning!
And I really like San Candido (only been in winter, though); I think it is a good call.

The Dolomites area divides very nicely to an eastern part and western part, seeing the most of the Dolomites involves splitting your stay between the two areas and hub and spoke out to the hikes and attractions from each base.

Eastern part - stay somewhere around Cortina d'Ampezzo
Western part - stay somewhere around Castlerotto / Ortisei

Thanks guys. I am just wondering if I keep Belluno AND San Candido or change one to Alpi Suisse? Any thoughts? Thanks so much
