Seceda Lift ticket trouble

We've been trying for two weeks to book timed lift tickets for July in Ortisei on the lifts up to the Seceda Ridge. Their Nexi booking platform keeps giving an error message that the transaction cannot go through.

We have tried two Master Cards, a Visa, Google Pay, multiple internet browsers, multiple laptops/phones, and have cleared browsing history/deleted cookies.

We have contacted the lift operator and our tour operator. Neither have heard of booking problems.

Has anyone tried to book Seceda lift tickets!? Thanks.

Just a thought, they may not actually be available yet, even though the site looks that way. We plan to purchase the Gardena ticket for 3 days in September, and the online link for the summer ticket takes me to the winter passes.
Do the operators say they are accepting summer bookings? It can be so confusing! I hope you get what you need.

Thank you for this post!! I will be there in July and planned to use that lift, but had not heard about the new reservation system. I now have my tickets!

seceda.it/en/tickets

I put in number of tickets that I wanted and then found the date on the calendar. I then clicked on the time I wanted on that date.

Hopefully this helps.

Nexi is in Italy, only, and known for getting hung up on SCA issues & international credit cards.

Our trouble, which was at the payment stage, was resolved by borrowing a friend's Citibank Visa.

dmd0522 - Our tour company told us about the new timed lift tickets for Seceda, starting this summer season. I've read that 2/3 of each day's tickets will be sold online, 1/3 walk up. The online tickets are now 5% discounted. They are moving to a timed system because summer lines and crowds are heavy. As for Alpe d'S, that's next on my list to research...

It’s also important to know that if you plan to purchase the 3 or 6 day Gardena pass for access to 18 lifts in the area, the pass also includes the Seceda lifts. Pass holders will not need a time slot and can board at any time. I emailed the lift operator to confirm this. (A lift pass is different from the mobile pass that gives you access to public transportation in the area.)

I'm so glad i saw this post. I also didn't know that Seceda lift require time reservation.
The posts i saw was people recommended buying tickets on the spot in case of bad weather.
What other lift nearby needs reservation?
I plan to take all three lifts from Ortisei, and thinking of purchasing the 3 day Gardena pass.
If i purchase the pass online, does reservation still required?

Thanks

I just clicked the link, to see if I could purchase the 3 -day Gardena Pass, but I have to select a specific area (lift) and select option uphill/downhill. No option to just select 3 day pass.
Is it too early to buy the pass online?

Holly, please see my response. No time slots needed for any of the lifts with the Gardena card. The summer card does not seem to be available yet, and there’s really no urgency about purchasing. You can email the operator with any questions, as they’re actually very quick to respond.

We bought three day passes the day we arrived from the tourist bureau. We were there 2025 at the end of June.

So Update from the Lift Operator with new information:\
"At the moment it is not possible to purchase them yet. Around early June it should be possible to purchase them online.
Now it also seems you will need a time slot booking with the Gardena Card as well, but we do not have any further information at the moment."

They must be still trying to figure out a new protocol, so we'll need to stay tuned.

Thanka, fraubarr.
I also contacted them through chat earlier and still wait for the answer.

We took are having trouble booking Seceda tickets. We've tried two different credit cards and they've both been rejected. We are trying to book for August 5th, so maybe the date isn't available yet. It's quite frustrating.

janicecoleman823 I just went to seceda.it/en/tickets and it appears that August tickets are available at this time. When I purchased my tickets for July, I used my CapitalOne visa and it took two tries before my purchase went through.

Seceda appears to have fixed their problem. You now identify that you are paying with an American credit card. I just got my two tickets for August.

It is June 23, 2026. We are in Orteisi for 4 nights. We purchased the 3 day Gardena pass two days ago (right at the lift for Alpe De Suisi). No reservation required to take this lift, so we went up right after purchase. Not all lifts in Alpe de Suisi are included with this pass, but the chairlift down at the top was, and this made it possible to get away from the bigger crowds hiking at the top who only bought the gondola ticket up.

Last night, our accommodation owner told us to go online and book a time for the Seceda lift for the next day (included in the Gardena pass but you must state when you will go). She recommended later in the morning. None of the slots were full when I picked our time at about 8pm - but we picked 10:30am. You enter your gardena pass number and reserve your time. This is a different website than buying a ticket. Now I cannot find that link! It had only to do with access to time.

We went at 10:30am and it was busy but efficient. You take two lifts up 2500 metres (8,000 feet) and we got to the off at 11:19am. I can now see the benefit of going up a bit later to avoid the crowds so we will try this again tomorrow and go up for lunch as we had such a great day today.

The third lift out of Orteisi is a funicular. It doesn’t seem quite as exciting but no reservation is required so we will check it out in the morning.

The gardens pass cost 124 € for each of us, but is great value compared to the individual costs. It is worthwhile if you are hiking or mountain biking for 3 days.

We just got back from a week in Ortisei, staying in the highly recommended, from this forum, Hotel Grones (and yes, it was perfect! We got the half board as all of you recommended).
For questions about lifts and how to do all of that, we ended up hiring Laura at dolomites journey. Her company helps with all the kind of logistical questions you have, you email her and she sends you back a packet filled with itinerary, hikes, lifts etc. totally tailored to what you need. Completely worth the money.
