My husband and I are experienced divers but have never dived in Europe. We'll be on a cruise in late July that stops in Portoferraio for a night. We typically seek out dives in warm water with good visibility, colorful corals and fish, maybe wrecks or artifacts. We've dived extensively in the Caribbean and that's what we're used to. We're comfortable with "difficult" dives, but are not thrill seekers. Do the divers out there think we would enjoy diving off Elba, or would we be bored? From the pictures I quickly googled online I didn't see a lot of color or corals, but some of the wrecks look intriguing. If "yes" to diving, does anyone have any dive shop recommendations or tips? Operators to stay away from?
