If you will be near Naples, there is an amazing underwater archaeological site at Baiae immediately north of downtown Naples.

RS has a suggestion for diving out of Sorrento. I contacted the people there, and they were very nice indeeed. We did not go as it was April, and we figured it would be to cold (it was raining the day we would have gone, so that was a good decision!)
