Scrovengi Chapel

Looking for any advice on how far out to purchase tickets. Will be there Oct 23. I see official site is just selling to July as of today. The site did say they post up tickets 6 months in advance.

Visited Scrovengi Chapel in October and had a problem with the website not letting me buy tickets. (This was a common complaint at the time.) I came into town and went straight there and got tickets for 1 hour later so I wandered the grounds and then and visited the chapel. So while I always advocate buying "must see" tickets in advance the demand in October was pretty low when I was there.

SO very worth seeing and the grounds and additional sculptures are also worth visiting.

Assuming you arrive by train take the bus to Ponti Romani-Garibaldi or the trolley to Tram Eremitani if you're going straight to the chapel. The walk is short - just a couple of transit stops - but is uninteresting.

Enjoy!

I've been there twice and I have some unsolicited advice: Get tickets when available. But here's the unsolicited part: book for the morning and the afternoon. On my second visit I took an early train from Venice and got into the Chapel early. I booked a second visit for late in the afternoon and took the next train back to Venice. The place really does deserve it!

I am also in need of a Scrovengi Chapel ticket for a mid September date and the website is only showing availability through the month of July.
I looked at my old trip notes and see I was able to purchase an online chapel ticket for September 24, 2025 on July 21, 2025. I plan on checking back in July, perhaps they'll be available for your date in August.
Though the daily ticket times seem to be from 900-1845, slots every 15 minutes, I would be so disappointed if I arrived and was unable to get a ticket. I'll only be there for a day trip, so plan on purchasing online in advance, unless that option doesn't work for me.

We visited the Scrovengi Chapel early October, 2025. I wouldn’t necessarily suggest this but, we didn’t plan ahead. Fortunately, we were able to get tickets for an evening visit a few days in advance. We were 2 of about 8 visitors. We were fortunate - going later in the evening and having lots of space to wander was magical.

If you can visit the Scrovegni Chapel at night, I encourage you to purchase Giotto Sotto le Stelle tickets.

This consecutive double shift visit at a reduced price allows you a 40+ minute viewing of Giotto's beautiful frescos instead of a single 20 minute visit.

After your single-shift group leaves and the next single-shift group prepares to enter, only you, the guard, and maybe a few other savvy tourists will be present in the chapel!

I bought consecutive shift tickets online for my wife and me. It made for an extra memorable visit!

I also did the evening double ticket option. It was wonderful and well worth the extra money and time.

Hi
Thank you for the evening double booking option. I will definitely do that!

An evening ticket would (hopefully) have the added advantage of avoiding school groups. When we visited lasted month, a school group was added to our morning time slot. So there were the 25 people who had pre-purchased tickets, plus an additional 20 or so students - 40+ people in total. The students were well behaved, but inevitably it was a bit crowded and difficult to move around with the students clustered around their teachers.

I wish I had known about the double tickets!! I was there in April and would have loved additional time with those wonderful works of art. Sigh..... Regina

In 2022, we arrived in Padova on Sept 15. We checked at the Chapel that day, and could have walked in immediately. We bought the next day. Oct 23 is well past the huge crowds. Don't sweat the tix.

My impression, in October 2024, was that advanced tickets had become more necessary but not months in advance.
