Scrovegni Chapel/Padova Card logistics

I've read everything in the Forum Search and read everything on the Scrovegni and turismopadova websites and am still confused about the logistics. To get Scrovegni tickets for the day best for us, we'll probably need to reserve 2 months in advance, but we were not planning to buy the Padova Card (free museums, free trams) until we arrive at Marco Polo. So if we buy the Cards and the Scrovegni reservation simultaneously (on the Chapel website), then how can we get our Cards when we arrive at Marco Polo since we didn't buy them there? Is there a Card number assigned on the receipt of our purchase so that we can pick up our Cards at the airport or any other approved place? Or if we do NOT buy the Cards simultaneously with the Scrovegni reservation, how would we be able to get a refund on the entry fees we paid online (which is free with the Padova Card)? We'll be in Padova several days and plan to use the Card for multiple sites and multiple tram rides. If you have any advice/solutions for my contorted brain (on this one issue, anyway!) I'd be very grateful!!

Without doing more research, I don't know why you need to pick up the cards at Marco Polo Airport. Rick's Italy book says that cards pre-purchased through the chapel web site can be collected at either the Padova TI or the Scrovegni Chapel. I purchased mine (for a September 2014 visit, single person) in person at the TI and at the same time made a chapel reservation for the next day.

Pick them up at the TI desk at the Padova train station.

Duh! Despite having both the RS Italy and Venice books with sections on Padova, I missed the short sentence about collecting prepurchased cards at the TI. But my question remains: if I purchase the Chapel tickets plus Padova cards in July and don't arrive there until September, will I get some kind of proof of purchase that the TI will honor 2 months later?

Yes, they email you receipts for one or the other or both - just print it out and take it with you.
