We will be visiting Padova in May 2022. Are small camera bags allowed inside the Scrovegni Chapel? Thanks very much.

We visited the chapel in March of 2016 and we were allowed to carry in a small camera bag. It was my day bag that I carried everything in for our day trip from Venice. Please keep in mind that the Scrovegni Chapel requires timed entry tickets that must be reserved well in advance, much like The Last Supper in Milan. As far as Padova goes, we didn't have a problem carrying our bag anywhere we went.
Good luck on your trip. I too will be returning to Italy in May and I am very excited. This 26 month travel drought has made me appreciate these trips more.!

If you want more than the 15 minutes inside the chapel, be sure to look into the evening double ticket --- it's not always offered. It's called 'Giotto sotto le stelle' (Giotto under the stars). We did that, plus a regular ticket, and that seemed like a more reasonable amount of time to really see the paintings.
