I am traveling to Sicily in June and undecided where to base myself? Looking for a picturesque city near the beach? Opinions / Suggestions?? Thanks!!!

Erice is at the top of a mountain...not a beach...however from the road up to Erice, you can see the beach......

Scopello is a very small but charming town. There's a nice beach just a short drive north (maybe 5-10 minutes). Don't recall whether there's a charge for use of the beach or just to rent a beach chair etc.
