Is everyone an experienced scooter/motorcycle rider?
If not, it seems a recipe for discovering the Italian or Swiss health care systems first hand.
Is there some reason for not taking a car?

Do you have experience riding scooters?
Are we talking about Someo in Valle Maggia (Maggia Valley)?
If you have a 125cc, it's probably about 2.5 hours.
There are restrictions on the type of scooters you can take on certain roads (freeways). Under 125cc they can't take freeways in CH.
I wouldn't attempt it with a 50cc. The hill up from Menaggio is steep.

Thankyou for your responses. I think it was just a weak moment thinking that it would be a lovely adventure. I think a lovely automatic airconditioned car might be the go.
