We are traveling from Chicago to Milan, traveling mostly in Italy late Sept 2025; our return flight connects in Frankfurt overnight then home.

Not as long as your stay is less than 90 days.

Depends on your nationality. Do you have US passports? If yes, then you do not need a visa for a stay of less than 90 days.

does anyone know how difficult it is to get a visa in Italy. I wanted to stay beyond 90 days. I don't have a medical issues and I have a valid passport
