After arriving in Rome from US, how much time should we allow from flight arrival to car .
The ground transportation is for traveling to hotel in Civitavecchia the day before we leave on a cruise
Thanks for all of the feedback.

Varies depending on lines at passport control, baggage claim etc.
However I generally walk to the taxi stand in front of the terminal when I’m ready and get a regular taxi to the city center. 48€ flat taxi fare imposed by the City of Rome. No need to schedule anything.
Are you referring to a “car service” to pick you up? Or to car rental?
We do as Roberto posted, super simple hand the taxi driver your hotel address and the 48 euros and you’re on your way
If a car service- most will ask for your flight number and monitor its arrival timing their pick up to that
I wouldn’t book any car service that didn’t do that or one that will charge you for any wait time
Normal times 90 min is probably sufficient but with extra paperwork now for entry I guess I’d give it 2 hours- allows for a quick pit stop as well
We arranged it through our hotel on both our Rome trips. We just needed to provide the airline and flight number. The drivers know about how long it takes and will be waiting for you when you exit baggage claim and customs. We just needed to look for the sign with or name on it.
