Will be in Rome in February, and have received confirmation for the SCAVI tour. Have read lots about how warm/hot and humid it is in summer, but was wondering if anyone had taken the tour in winter and could lend some idea what the underground environment was like at that time of year.
The last time I was in Rome I took the Scavi tour at the end of February. It is underground and sheltered from the outside weather. It was warmer inside than outside. I took off my outer coat to be more comfortable. Left my sweater on. Not too humid. Pretty nice down there at that time of year.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Edwin. I appreciate it!
I was there in mid-January last year and my friend and I shed as many layers as we could once we were at the lowest level. It was definitely warmer than outside!
Thank you, Travelmom!
