I will be in Rome May 28-31. I requested the Scavi Tour in the Vatican for May 29. I received the verification for the request on Jan 11. I have not received any other information since then. Our trip is in 2 weeks. Please advise.

Hello, my wife and I went t last year. I put in our request a couple months prior to our visit. We got confirmation at that time. About a month before our visit we received an email that we were chosen. We then replied with payment and they confirmed our visit the next day.
When we took a tour of the Vatican we told our guide that we went and she couldn't believe it since she has been trying for years and never got accepted. We also had a lady on our tour from San Francisco that had tried for years and she got one last year.
So with your trip two weeks away I'm not sure if you will get in. But I'm no expert. The tour is very limited with only about 10 on our tour.
I hope you get in. You can see St Peter's finger in a Tupperware container.

I just posted this same reply on a different thread discussing this same topic….
I made the request for our visit back in January for a guided tour of the tomb of St. Peter and the Necropolis on May 28th. I did get a confirmation of my request, but nothing else until just a couple days ago. I got an email on April 28th that confirmed acceptance and provided instructions on how to submit payment.
I hope you get your email soon!
