Yes. I booked by email. I sent my request in February for a May date. I received the auto-reply that they got my email shortly after sending the request. I did not receive confirmation that I was on the tour until about 2 weeks before the date that I requested (I was already in Italy at the time). I then had 5 days to send info for payment (credit card details).

When I left for Italy, I had assumed that I had not gotten the tour and was pleasantly surprised to see the confirmation when I stopped in an internet cafe. From what I have seen on Trip Advisor, I don't think that they send out confirmations very far in advance so the fact that you have requested a November date and have not heard back does not seem terribly unusual. Did you get the auto-reply email?

Hi there! I sent an email in late May for a mid September date. Got the auto reply immediately. I did not get the actual conformation until about 2 weeks ago, at which time I had 10 days to make payment. We did so immediately, because this is probably the one tour that we really wanted. I got a response right back the next day after payment, saying that they received it and the day and time of the tour. Be patient, as if you sent your request so early you will probably get the tour.

I'm curious what fax number folks are using for the Scavi tour. We did not get the auto-reply several of you have mentioned.

I did not fax, I sent an email, which I received an auto reply to, just a day or so later.

No auto-reply so will send new request.

I sent an e-mail 8 weeks in advance for the beginning of October and they are booked up.

We just got our confirmation today. We requested the tour in August for a visit in late October. Good luck!

I emailed them about and 2 months ago. Gave the dates we could go, # in party, names, and requested an English tour. I got an email back and then my husband has to fax our credit card to hold the reservation. I think they gave uw 10 days to do this. We will be there next week.

Thank you for the advice everyone. I emailed a second time and got a response and we will get the tour. I think it is very important to email Scaviva in the format that they request--sort of itemized--I did this the second time and heard back within 24 hours. So now all we have to do is fax CC info.
