Scavi tour- when to give up?

I emailed already about getting a tour in June about two weeks ago. I received the response that they got my request. I understand at this point, no response means no tours available.

When should I assume it's not going to happen? Closer to the date? After a month? I am hesitant to plan some other things in case the tour comes through. But I there are a few other things I want to book us as well.

Kristen, I emailed a request in mid-November for a March visit and I just got the confirmation email last week. So that was about six weeks. Be aware that if you get an email from them the "From" is in Italian. I almost deleted mine as spam before opening it! I have heard great things about this tour and am thrilled we got in. Good luck to you.

This was back in 2006 so I don't remember now how far in advance I sent in my request, but I DO remember that I had all but given up hope and then heard from them that my request was accepted just a FEW DAYS before leaving for our trip! So, don't give up!

It can take up to several months to get a confirmation. When you see people saying they have received tour confirmation for your dates and you haven't received one then you can give up. Don't send multiple requests as this makes the process harder.

Last year I emailed my request at the beginning of January for a June tour. I didn't get a confirmation until the end of March. Just keep checking and also be sure to check your spam folder.
