Can anyone tell me the difference or benefit of having a seminarian guide from the Pontifical North American College for an English-speaking SCAVI tour versus the regular guides?

We did the tour in Sept. 2021 with a "regular" tour guy not a student. But having visited the College the last 3 times in Rome to visit friends/students and knowing several graduates (our local priests) I don't think there would be any decrease in knowledge with presentation during the tour at all.
