Scavi Tour

Hello,

I am planning a trip to Rome in Mid-January. I would like to book a Scavi tour while in Rome through the link on the Vatican's website. How far in advance should I request a visit? Would it be best to give the days I'm in Rome so that there are options or should I give a particular day?

I searched this question through the search option but for some reason, when clicking on the results, I kept being directed back to the main Helpline page, so my apologies if this is a reoccurring question on the helpline.

Request it now and do give them the dates that you're available.

Went on the Scavi tour. It was fantastic! First response is correct in that the earlier you request the better the chance. Request more than one available date. Request English tour. There are age restrictions so no very young kids.

The Vatican website tells you what they need to know. If I remember correctly that includes the dates you are in Rome, the number of people, and the language you require. They will get back to you to tell you what's available. And folks are correct in saying that you should do this as soon as possible. The website is vatican.va; search for scavi.

Thank you all for your quick responses. I've put my request in for the dates I'll be in Rome. Fingers crossed it's not too late :)
