My friend and I have tried several times on her computer and on my computer to make the scavi reservations without any luck. We used the website that was recommended [email protected]. When I sent the e-mail to them with all of the info that is requested, it came back and said it was undeliverable. We think the problem is on their end.Can you please tell me if there is a different websit we can use to make these reservations? We can't buy other tour tickets until we get these. Can anyone help us please?

Hi Janice, I also had problems with the Vatican scavi website, so I ended up faxing my request and got my reservations pretty quickly. You might want to try that to see if you have better luck.

I seem to recall previous postings that said some email domains had trouble getting through to the Vatican. Have you tried emailing from a different domain, maybe gmail.com?

Can you give me more details on how to do the fax thing? Also do you know what the fax number was? How do we pay for the tickets and was the tickets mailed to you? We were told that tickets would go right to our hotel, so we werent comfortable with that. Please tell me how this all works. Thank you

Hi Janice, I used the number in the Rick Steves Italy book (011 06 6987 3017). I faxed in mid-December for a May visit. I included in the fax three different days we could visit, the number of people visiting, our names, and my e-mail address. They responded by e-mail within a few days indicating they had received my request and that I would be hearing from them. Very shortly, I got another e-mail saying our visit was authorized and giving me information on how to pay them. I sent my credit card information by fax and received my confirmation and receipt by e-mail shortly thereafter. I agree with the previous poster that sending your request from a different e-mail might be a good option, but the above worked for me. I understand that you will not hear from them if there are no openings. Good luck!

I heard from Janice and she was able to get these reservations by using a hotmail account instead of her regular one.
