So I sent an email request for the Scavi Tour in Vatican in early June... And got an email reply that it's already full... REALLY??!! Has anybody recently tried requesting the Scavi tour?
This tour is very popular and limited space is available. Have you checked broker sites, just to see if there are tickets available? Dark Rome shows many tours available for June, so perhaps the official Vatican website is sold out, but you can find tickets through other agents.
I don't know the Vatican's policy on releasing tickets, perhaps they release a certain number at a time.
Thanks Zoe. Do you know any broker sites?
Thanks
The scavi tour is usually not available to brokers. The space is so limited that they cannot sell to them. All of the reseller sites that I've seen that mention the scavi tour refer you back to the official booking site. If the official site is letting you know they're full then I think you'll just need to plan for your next visit.

If you are looking for the very first week of June, it maybe booked due to the Jubilee of Priests 6/1 through 6/3 for the Holy Year. I booked approximately 2 months ago and my beginning of June dates were not available. I was able to get 5/31.
Donna is right, don't know what I was thinking. If you check santasusanna.org you may be able to get some info - that's the American parish church in Roma, lots of helpful information.
I was looking for the 6/6 to 6/10. and asked for either english or chinese tour. At first, i asked for 6/7 to 6/9 since we arrive on the date of June 6 and leaving in the morning of June 10. I sent them a second request to include 6/6 and 6/10... but haven't received any replies... I am thinking about asking them to see if there's any tour available in any kind of language.. even in Martian...
Please don't keep sending them requests. There are only two people working in that office and they receive thousands of requests per day. If they can get you on a tour, they will. These tours have very limited availability so not everyone gets on one. Sending request after request just gives them more work to do and tends to get confusing.
