Saver Rail Pass or wait to buy tickets there?

We are planning a trip to Italy in June. Flying to Rome, home from Venice. For 4 people, is it best to just buy a saver rail pass or individual tickets? I think our itinerary will be Rome - Florence - Pisa/Lucca - La Spezia - Venice. Any tips? We have been advised by one friend to buy the first class saver pass, and make reservations on each leg of our journey to save time in lines. Help, please!

Don't wait in line. Buy at the automated kiosks in the station lobby. They are multilingual and very intuitive to use.
