Hi all, I will be in Monterosso in early June for 6 nights. This is a return visit, so I'm looking for day trip locations. I have visited Portovenere and Camogli on previous visits. I'm considering a morning in Sarzana. Has anyone been there recently? Any suggestions on another 1/2 day stop nearby?

Sarzana's a lovely little city. Several good churches including the oldest signed painted crucifix known. The back streets have some nice antique and specialty shops. You can catch a bus from Sarzana to visit Lerici, a beautiful port city on the Gulf of the Poets with a castle and hillsides of colorful Ligurian buildings. Lots of restaurants and great people watching on the lungomare along the coast to the frazione of San Terenzo. You can return to La Spezia Centrale by bus from Lerici.

Ditto what Mike said. Pescatori in Lerici for a seafood feast.
Tellaro is nice too if you can swing it.
