I wanted to create a new thread just on this topic. I want to rent a car in Sardinia. It turns out that there are some major car rental companies, but most of them are located near the airports. They’re also seem to be some local car, rental companies or Italian only car rental companies. And those companies are often in some of the smaller cities.
I was gonna go with the local car companies until I read some reviews on some very popular travel websites and other had some bad experiences with the small companies. It turns out that they were charging extra fees or charging administrative fees, even when people had full insurance coverage for the most minor damage.
so my main question is whether other people have had good or bad experiences with the small companies or the large companies in Sardinia?
As it turns out since I’m going to be arriving in Porto Torres, the only car rental companies are the small ones. I can take a train to sorry and then get one of the bigger car companies although their location is over a mile from the train station.
