I'm doing a spontaneous purchase of a ticket to Sardinia. I would love to get any input on what to see, where to go, what to avoid. Also, what might be the best area to stay. I'd like to be close to a beach.

On top of this page, above the title of your post, there is a "Search" box (with a magnifier glass).
Enter "Sardinia" in the box and you will find several posts about Sardinia in the last year or even prior. Plenty of suggestions there from those of us who have been there.
