We are heading over to Italy in a few weeks and will be touring the island of Sardegna/Sardinia. The plan is to rent a car and tour the southern part of the island and then head to the north and tour the northern part before heading (by ferry, hopefully(!) as car hires/rentals may not permit travel by ferry - TBD) over to Corsica and doing the same. Between both islands, we have allocated 10.5 days before we fly back to Rome. The beauty of these islands intrigues us, however, we are hoping that there may be some interesting sites, quaint villages, restaurants, and other things to see and do. I always turn to Rick Steve's for tips, tours, etc. I am surprised that there is nothing on these islands. For my fellow European travelers, have you any great agendas/timelines that may reflect some of our travel ambitions?
There are a few threads on this forum about Sardinia and Corsica. I will say (after researching for my own trip this summer to Sardinia), 10.5 days is very few to do much on both islands. Sardinia is huge - 2 ½ times the size of the big island of Hawaii. With transportation (ferries and flights) your time will be even shorter. There are many itineraries for Sardinia online. Google "4 days in..." or "10 days in ..." and you'll get a ton. There are villages and cities and a many beaches and hikes. But as I say, with only 5 days for each island you will have to cut out a LOT from each. Also, you know that Corsica is French? Im not sure what their Covid requirements are or will be by this summer, but if they currently require testing, you may have to test on Sardinia before heading there...
Here's a link to the list of threads on this forum with "Sardinia" as a search and limited to posts from the past 6 months (hope this works):

With only 10 days I would concentrate on Northern Sardinia (which probably has more to offer) and Corsica.
I generally stay in Gallura (Santa Teresa) and there is a car-ferry that takes you to Bonifacio in 50 minutes. I think inter-island Sardinia-Corsica is allowed by rental car companies, in any case I've always taken it across.
I've posted numerous comments on Sardinia in the past, if you use the search feature above, you'll be able to find many.
Corsica (France) is more expensive than Sardinia (Italy) so be aware of that.
