Sardinia or Corsica and why?

MY wife and I want to visit one of these islands this September for 7-10 days. which one should we visit and why? we heard Sardinia has better food. is one cheaper to stay and eat? Does one have better towns? When we go on beach vacations like this we love to explore small towns or small cities. as well as beautiful beaches. thanks in advance for your ideas and replies. I’ve only been to Corsica years ago so can’t compare with Sardegna - but the beaches are beautiful in the Santa Giulia/ Porto vecchio area. Bonifaccio on the southern tip was a memorable town to visit. Liked the French/ Italian culture mix and enjoyed crepes at street vendors, as well as the local bread. I recall choosing Corsica as a destination (over Sardegna) thinking it was less developed - more rugged - than Sardegna at the time.
