Sardinia or Corsica?

Which do you recommend?
Or is there another island more preferable?

Wayne, we did Sardinia this past summer and loved it. 1st we did rural Tuscany and Umbria, then we booked a room on the overnight car ferry to Sardinia. (left at 11Pm, arrived @ 6 AM) 1st thing we noticed; a lot less traffic, and the people drove "sensibly". And, our GPS, which we had just updated, could not be relied upon. Use a Michelin map as a backup. The NE coast is a kind of "nothing" except some of the "most awesome" and beautiful walks/hikes you can take along the water. In the north we stayed in a fantastic and lo-cost agri (Agri Stazzi La China) that provided us with meals that could not be beat. We only stayed on night in Alghero, but wish we had done more. We did not have time to see much of the West coast, but did spend some time just outside Cagliari. We loved the town, and the beaches. The wife wants to go back just for the beaches and food, and the warm and friendly people. I have heard lots of great things about Corsica. The two islands are only a few miles apart, and are covered by ferries and planes.
