Sardinia and Corsica itinerary suggestions for an active outdoorsy couple

Hello!

My husband and I are travelling to Sardinia and Corsica at the end of May this year.

We would greatly appreciate any itinerary suggestions please. We are in our early 40s and avid hikers and mountaineers, so would love to visit some off-the beaten trail places for hiking and exploring. We prefer to stay in towns for at least 2-3 nights and will have a rental car.

What are some of your favorite destinations?

What about favorite hotels, Airbnbs, or pensions?

Is the Mediterranean too cold for swimming in May?

Thank you!

I didn’t do much hiking. When I go it’s mostly beach time and boat excursions. But you can find stuff in the official websites above (search for “trekking”) or on Komoot below. Corsica has a more lush landscape, Sardinia is drier, like Southern California.

If you use the search button of this forum you will find suggestions p, including several from me.

The water in May is not at its warmest but certainly way warmer than the Pacific Ocean in California et any time of the year. After the initial jolt when you get inside you will be fine in Sardinia and Corsica. The Pacific Ocean is freezing cold in comparison, even in August.

Both are high on my list--are you familiar with the Cicerone guide books? I always check them first for hiking information.

Most of my trips to the Mediterranean have been in late May. Water "bracing" but fine, especially after a hike! Mid May, I would say nuh-uh.
