My husband and I along with our 20 yr. old daughter are thinking of going to Sardinia mid may. Any suggestions? Should we skip Sardinia and go to the Amalfi coast instead?
Many Italians I deal with sneak over to Sardinia for the August holidays, however, don't know what if any thing there is to do there, other than beach and eat.
I just returned from Sicily, and the Western end, with the Temples at Segesta and Selunite(?) and the Norman churches in Palermo, were overwhelming.
Don't get me wrong, the Amalfi coast is spectacular, however, be prepared to be with several hundred tourists intent on experiencing the same things you hope to, and on the same bus.
As an aside, you can fly Easyjet from FCO for next to nothing to Palermo.
