Have read that there is some restoration work at Santa Maria Sopra Minerva in Rome. Is it still ongoing? Can one visit the church? Any word on when the restoration work will be finished?
Thanks in advance.

Limited visiting hours for the church during restoration are on their website:
https://www.santamariasopraminerva.it/en/
From Monday, October 20, the Basilica will be open to the public for restoration work:
Monday to Friday From 4 pm to 7.30 pm
Saturday and Sunday: From 10.30 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 19.30
Those could change so check the website before your visit. Can't find any info on when the work will wrap up. It's very possible they don't have an definitive date as can happen with complex/delicate work on very old structures.
It's a beautiful church. Interesting because we tried to see it about five years ago when we were in Rome and it was completely closed for restoration. We were in Rome this past February and it was open. I'm surprised they are undergoing renovation so soon, However these churches are so old, frequent renovation does make sense. It's worth checking.

You bet, it's a church well worth taking a peek at.
Jules, wish some of MY aging parts could be renovated! (sigh)
Thanks, all!
We may revisit Rome a second time in a couple of years when we plan to tour Umbria and Tuscany, So, we could see SM Soprra Minerva a second time, if there is a way to find out if their restoration work is completed.
