We'll be traveling from Santa Margherita Ligure to Parma with a transfer in La Spezia. One of the times of departure at 11:10 a.m. has only a 16 minute time in La Spezia for transfer to the train to Parma. Is this a doable amount of time? Or do we have to take the 8:20 a.m. train with a longer window? Any advice from someone who has done this trip would be greatly appreciated.

We've changed trains in La Spezia station before. It is very small as you can see by the pics on google maps. You won't have any problems provided the train is on time.
Enjoy Santa Margherita Liguria, it is hidden gem, and we thought it was much nicer to visit than Portofino!

Is the LaSpezia-Parma train a Regionale? If so you can freely board the following Regionale to Parma. Note down the train code and the departure time.

Thank you both for the helpful responses. I'll Google Earth and I will check as to train's status. Since we usually drive in Europe, train travel has a learning curve.
