We're thinking of taking a day and a half in 5 Terre in order to have some relaxing beach time -- Monterosso was recommended as the best beach, but others have told me it is more rocks than sand....any suggestions for sandy beaches in Cinque Terre?

Monterosso has the best beach. The others are very rocky, and smaller. Expect nude bathers.

And do not expect Florida type beaches. Most beaches will be more like a fine gravel to a course gravel. But the views will be great.

Monterosso has the sandiest beaches. As the other post stated not Florida, but they aren't bad. You will find a few people topless, but not nude. The beaches are full of families.
