We will be arriving in San Remo (by train) in October for just one night. Can anyone recommend a moderately priced hotel near the train station? Also, how far is the train station from waterfront. Thank you.

Pat, when we are trying to determine the distance from one location to another in a town, we turn to Google maps. When we are getting ready to finalyze a lodginhg pic we go to the Street view" and "walk" up and down the street and see what the area looks like. We also turn on Booking.com and look at their maps/reviews of hotels, (though youreviews from EU residents are generally much more favorable than reviews by US and UK visitors.) When we are looking for a lodging recomendations we go to the town in Trip Advisor.com, and review at the accomodations and ratings from other posters. (they sort from most popular to least) You can use their web site to sort thru these ratings, and even send personal Emails to reviewers asking for more info.
