San Quirico parking

Hello all, we will be visiting San Quirico d'Orcia on our way to Montepulciano in early July. On Google maps I see two public parking areas, one on North end maybe just outside the center, and one that looks to be in the East side of center. Any advice and/or information on parking would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We were there last May and absolutely loved this little gem! It was the least touristy of all the places we visited in Tuscany. As for parking, we parked in the first lot we found. There was a little gate that led right into town from the parking lot. It was very close and the town is tiny, so I would think parking anywhere is going to be close. One note, pay attention to the parking info Rick has in his books. I can't remember the color coding system but be sure to park in the right colored stall. One is for residents so you want to avoid those spots. Also, if you don't speak Italian (like us), there is a flag icon on the parking meter machines which allows you to chose your language. ;-) Enjoy!!

P.S. I just found a reference to the color coding system elsewhere on the RS forums: "Yellow is for the local residents and handicapped spaces. Blue means there is a meter somewhere on the block. Feed the meter and put the receipt on your front dashboard."

A couple of weeks ago we parked in the one to the east, Via dei Fossi. It was a short walk up to the town and very easy to get to. It is indeed a lovely place and I agree any parking will be close, although I think that one is closer than the ones to the north or south. We ate lunch at Trattoria Osenna, which was very nice. They have a wisteria covered back patio that is gorgeous. Good food, good service. The Horti Leoni is nice to walk through and you can see the old city wall (I assume, can't remember) up close.
