Is San Miniato a nice area? I know it's not very central but we will have a car. We found an Air B&B we really like but is it worth looking around somewhere more central or is it fine if we don't mind a little driving? We will be leaving there and driving to Venice after our stay. Thank you!

San Miniato is nice. Whether that is a good location or not depends on where you plan to visit.

San Miniato is a pleasant hill town. The favorability of the location depends on what you want to see as it's not especially close to some of the popular Tuscan sights. Use Google Maps to see drive times. Pisa, Volterra, Certaldo Alto, Vinci, and Lucca are some to consider.
