san marino

I am considering traveling to San Marino from Bologna. Is San Marino worth the trip? Can anyone comment who has been there?

It's essentially a town on a hill with not many good places to eat. You can see it all in two hours. It's probably hard to get to without a car. I've been there twice, the second time only because we were nearby and my wife wanted to see it. The most interesting thing about it is it's form of government. The have co-whatevers who only serve for a short period and nothing can be done unless both agree. Unless you want to put another country notch in your belt, I'd skip it. End of unflattering report.

So the scenery was not that great? What about the shoppping, I read that the prices are so much less. Any truth to that?

Myself, I enjoy SM. I've been there several times. Nice views of Italy (if you catch it on a clear day). I didn't think prices were all that much different as far as the little bit of shopping I've done. I haven't had any great food experiences either.
