From Ravenna we plan to take the train to Rimini and then the bus to San Marino. Would this be more of a day trip from Ravenna or spend the night in San Marino, if so any suggestions for B&B's there? Also any input on the town itself?

A few hours onsite will do. So a day trip from Ravenna works.

Agree with Roberto! We have family in Riccione and we took our kids there a few years ago, and parking is difficult. It's beautiful, and worth seeing for sure, but no need to stay overnight.
