San Marco Plus Pass

"Rick Steve's Italy 2011" book references a "San Marco Plus" pass that includes the Correr Museum, Doge Place and one of seven other optional museums. He also references the "Museum Pass" which is more expensive and covers more museums. I went to the Correr Museum site and could not find the preferred "San Marco Plus" pass. It only listed the "Museum Pass". Does anyone have inforamtion about this pass and where it can be purchased?

You can buy passes here http://www.veniceconnected.com/ before you go. They don't list a "San Marco Plus" but there are two choices: The Museum Pass, good for 6 months and all Venice Civic Museums, or the Museusm of St. Marks' Square, which is described thus: One single ticket, valid for 3 months, for the four Museums in St. Mark's Square: •Doge's Palace • Museo Correr • Museo Archeologico Nazionale
•Monumental Rooms of the Biblioteca Nazionale At the website click on "Buy Now" the date you woudl start using the pass, then the Culture tab to see prices. For June 29 (for example) there is only a 2 euro difference in price. While at Venice Connected, you can also buy discounted Vaporetto passes. A very good idea as the savings over individual tickets are considerable.

I picked up one the the SMP passes last friday at the Doge's Palace. We went late in the day so there were no lines (and this was day two of the Bienale, so Venice is currently PACKED!). Picked up my pass and did the tour. Simple.
