There is a side door to St Mark's where some people line up during the week day mornings. Can I enter to a side chapel there? How about to the main sanctuary? Alan

If you mean the door tot he left side of St. Mark's when looking at the front, then that is where you go if you are attending mass on Sunday anyway. There are also daily masses there so that could be the same place for that. If you just want to enter, then no, you need to go to the main line or do the checked bag trick. If you do want to go to mass, then yes, you can go to that entrance.
