We are going to Caserta to see the Reggia de Caserta, and would also love to visit the silk factory. It appears one can only visit with a guide, but so far we have found it impossible to find a guided tour other than full day tours that start in Naples. We just want to show up and see the site and learn about it. But we cannot find a way to get reservations for entry or find a guide. My husband is on the Italian websites and I have tried the English ones, to no avail.
Does anyone have any experience visiting this place? It is a UNESCO Heritage site so not exactly off the tourism path.
