San Gimignano vs Casole d'Elsa

We would appreciate any pros or cons regarding these two towns as a base for a three week stay.
Thank You!

I would suggest San Gimignano, or rather the countryside around San Gim. Siena, Certraldo, and Volterra are just a few minutes away. Agriturismos are everywhere south of Florencestaying on a working wine/olive oil farm. They're great travel experiences, and often pretty plush accommodations. You're one hour from Florence, and can take a bus into the big city for day trips. You can also go northeast to Chianti wine region and other great hill country cities. The coast is also 45 minutes to the west.
