We are planning to travel by public transportation from San Gimignano to Montepulciano or Cortona then visiting Assisi and Orvieto. Understanding that S.G. is not on the rail line, is it more efficient to go first by bus to Poggibonsi then on to Montepulciano or to Cortona, bearing in mind the fact that we also want to go to Assisi. We plan on ending this part of the journey in Orvieto before heading south to the Amalfi coast. Has anyone found a good website for the bus schedules in this part of Italy? Any ideas/plans/schedules greatly appreciated! Thanks,
