San Gimignano Cooking Class

Hello!
I am trying to select a cooking class experience for my husband and I this June. I emailed a few different options and compiled the information below to compare them side by side. Any advice on the three options below?

  1. Il Vicario
    Website: https://www.ilvicario.com/index.php/en/
    Trip Advisor: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g187901-d2367216-Reviews-Tuscan_Cooking_Class-San_Gimignano_Tuscany.html
    Time: 11:30-3:00 / 9:30-3:00
    Who: Katia & Uncle Fulvio
    Pricing:
$60 - Beginner cooking class and we prepare a full Tuscany meal; we'll make a lot of typical Tuscany antipasti, then we prepare primi piatti, and we make one type of pasta hand made, two different sauces for pasta, and then a second course with meat. During the cooking class you'll taste 3 different wines.
$110 – Advanced Cooking Class - If you know something about the cooking and you would like know the secret of special Tuscany recipes we organize the advanced cooking class; we do a full Tuscany meal but more difficult recipes, so you'll make antipasti (more than in the beginner) primi piatti and we make two types of pasta hand made and more difficult sauce like sausages and saffron, or red sauce with pancetta, then secondi piatti with meat and we'll make also a dessert.
$130 - Truffle hunting only on advanced cooking class . You’ll meet your guide two hours before the cooking class, go to the forest looking for truffles and at 11:30 we’ll start with the cooking lesson and we’ll use truffles.
If you have special request we'll be happy to help you to organize.

  2. Mauro

Time: Either 10.30am so that we can have lunch together at about 1.00pm, or at 5.00pm so to have dinner together around 7.30pm. Dinner relaxiaton :) and wine are included in the price.
    Who: Chief Mauro
    Pricing:
$95 for Pasta Class, $125 for Garden to Table, $125 for Full Tuscan Menu (see brochure)
I think the best course, is the "Pasta Cooking Class". It's the best to learn how to make simple and wonderful recipes like pasta, ravioli, ragù, tiramisù and something more. It's very very relaxing and interesting.

  3. Sovestro Winery

My choice is IlVicario. Started going there in 2009. Go back every year. Great cooking class with wine pairings. Yum, I can still taste the pici.
You can't go wrong. You will love Fulvio and Katia!

Hey Camille!

Thank you for your reply! All of the cooking classes look so good! I don't think we would have a bad time at any of them.

Have you ever been to Mauro? Just curious... :)
