It seems our train gets in later than the boat transfers go out for the day from salerno to amalfi (the town). The boat transfers say that there is going to be a "summer schedule" posted but we are in the middle of the summer and still nothing. We will be there in late August. How does somebody get from the salerno train station to the town of Amalfi (to our hotel) without taking public transportation? I guess the real question is, is there cabs? If so how much are they in US dollars or Euro? Or what time does the latest boat go out to transfer people to their hotel from salerno?

SITA bus # 5120 runs more often, departing Salerno as late as 20:30 daily and 21:30 Mon-Sat. TravelMar ferries also have August schedules online and show the last bookable departures at 17:10 on my test date. Salerno is a sizeable city, which certainly has taxis.
