Our cruise port is Salerno, we would like to go to Capri. Because of when we depart, most ferry/hydrofoil return schedules don't work. Is it possible to get to and from maybe Amalfi and use their more frequent runs? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mary

There are 4-6 boats per day from Salerno to Amalfi (half hour), so you can check those schedules first, e.g., if your cruise tenders you into the central tourist port. A couple of blocks inland from there is the Salerno train station. Frequent SITA buses (20 per day) run from in front of Salerno station (on the median strip) to Amalfi. Transfer at Amalfi for Positano and Sorrento, if your Capri ferry plan doesn't work out. Ticket vendor options can change or close. Plan to buy tickets at the newsstand inside Salerno station, or else try ticket windows in the station, or possibly Bar Cioffi (2 blocks).
