Can anyone tell me if there is baggage storage at the Salerno train station? I've spent several hours on the internet trying to find out! I would like to ditch my bag for half a day while I visit Paestum. Or is there baggage storage somewhere at the Paestum sights? I'll be coming from Amalfi and heading to Rome later in the day. Thanks.

Just back from Paestum via Salerno a week ago - I didn't use luggage storage in Salerno, but did find 2013 on-line resource that stated:
"At Salerno station the left luggage service is covered by a private tour operator ("Agenzia di viaggi"), which is within the same station, on the premises next to the ticket office and to the newspaper shop." Saw this operational ticket office open last week, but unaware of tour operator storage options/rates/contact.
Also, saw mention of possible storage of luggage at Paestum Tourist Info office, but didn't see any direct info on-line about this?
Walk to Paestum from train is 10 mins. down a paved road, FYI.
I'm sure your itinerary is set, but you might consider staying in Salerno 1 night - great medieval town area - stayed at historic hostel with many regular type rooms w/private baths - http://www.ostellodisalerno.it/en/
Then, where ever you could stay in Salerno, could hold your bags for Paestum day trip?
