We have narrowed down our choices (and received confirmation of availability) of B&Bs in Salerno to 3. We will be there for 3 nights in late September. If by chance anyone has stayed in any of these, I'd love your input. All three have excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and/or Booking.com. We have contacted all three directly to confirm availability and plan to book directly with the owners.
1. Seaview Salerno was recommended on this forum. The photos look amazing, the reviews are great, and it's really tempting....but it's a lot more expensive than most of the other Salerno B&Bs. 130 euro per night is not a lot of money for Italy, but it is high for Salerno and I'm not sure we need to spend 390 euro when we have many choices that total 270 or less. (on line they also show another room for 110 euro....it wasn't offered to us but I could follow up with them to see if this room is available....)
2. Alto Mare has a room with a small private balcony, is centrally located, and has excellent reviews. The room is 90 euro per night.
3. l'Infinity does not seem to have any balconies or outdoor patios, but also has excellent reviews, and people just rave about the woman who runs it. While all but one of the 5 B&B's I contacted replied to me quickly, she got back to me immediately. The room is 80 euros per night. I've got her 3rd on the list right now, solely because there's no balcony. Is a balcony something we'd be sorry not to have in Salerno? Since we're planning on doing a fair amount of r&r when we're there (it will be at the end of a RS tour) I'm thinking a balcony might be something we'd especially want.
Thanks for any insights/opinions you care to provide!
